Our Approach

We Embrace a Different Approach

We are different.

Structurally, functionally, hormonally and emotionally. So naturally our approach respects this when attempting to understand your story. Yes, we talk about periods or the lack thereof and how that may impact your symptoms.

Our bodies tell a story of the lives we lead and the challenges faced.
We make it our mission to address root causes not provide quick fixes. It is about sustainability in your dynamic body, to embrace each and every challenge life throws your way.

Wellbeing starts from within.

As they say, you don’t build a house without a foundation. We are super passionate about building resilient women, no matter what your concerns are. Our experience tells us that starting with foundational concepts allows for sustainable change.

We promise to challenge your beliefs.

There’s no such thing as ‘the best posture’ or ‘slipped disc’ or ‘abdominal separation causing back pain/incontinence/prolapse’. Our approach is evidence based not crowd sourced from the internet. As clinicians, we take pride in keeping up to date with advancements in our understanding of how our intricate bodies work.

We are discreet.

We are a clinic only for women, by women. Given the nature of the concerns we commonly see at Embrace, you can trust us to approach you in a non judgemental and discreet manner. If we need to share details of your case, we will always ask for your consent first.

What to expect

Listen

We listen to your story: we want to hear your story and understand your goals. This is nothing short of an integration about your concerns, medical history, injuries, how you use your body day in/out etc…Some of these questions may seem strange at the time, but know that they help us do our job better.

Assess

Once we understand your story, we assess, assess and assess some more to test our hypothesis and use these as a measure of treatment success to ensure we are working towards your goals. If we feel that your problem is pelvic floor related, we may recommend a pelvic floor exam (you can learn more about that here) or the use Real Time ultrasound to determine the cause of your concerns.

Educate

The Embrace Philosophy is “know better, do better”. We wholeheartedly believe that only when you as a client understand the ‘why’ behind your concerns, that you will Embrace the journey to achieve your goals.

Treat

Given the depth and breadth of our combined experiences treatment may include movement advice, hands on therapy and releases, exercise (this is non-negotiable!), dry needling, mobilisation or manipulation, referral to our group classes or on to another medical or allied health clinician.

Your Visit

To make the most of your experience with us, there are some key steps to follow as first time client’s of the clinic.

  • Prior to your visit: fill out your online intake and consent forms. These have been emailed and whatsapped to you. If you have a referral letter or reports, please do send these ahead of time by email or whatsapp.
  • Arrive 10 minutes earlier to allow for our CEO’s to onboard you.
  • Enjoy the moments of stillness and clarity as you take deep breaths and collect your thoughts on what you would like to discuss with your physiotherapist. COVID pending, enjoy a cuppa on us.

At Embrace, we commit to the highest standards to create purposeful journeys with our patients.

Was recommended by a friend to embrace physiotherapy, I was having bad recurring blocked ducts/mastitis and was desperate. I’m served by a very welcoming and friendly counter lady (forgot to get her name) and my therapists Preet and Brenda are very professional and helpful, they helped get my stubborn blocked ducts cleared in 3 sessions. Preet also referred me to someone who helped with the recurring mastitis. Will probably still experience the same problem if I haven’t visit them, super thankful for the help!

I highly recommend Embrace. Unlike most, my journey with them was a little different. It was treatment for my pelvic floor recovery post L5S1 fusion with cauda equina. My therapist Brenda was fantastic. Not only was she very professional, but she made me very comfortable from the very 1st minute. Always encouraging, I felt assured and confident with her during my recovery period. Today i got discharged after a 4 month treatment and i cant thank Brenda more. Thank you for walking this journey with me.

Saw Preet first to fix my postnatal pelvic floor issues and then Brenda to get me back to regular exercise without injury. Both have been nothing but awesome. They're professional and empathetic, and I've always felt listened to and in a safe space. I spent most sessions with Brenda and she targeted every ache and niggle with a good solution. I also love that it's women only, too bad for the boys!
